About Me

Hey there!

I appreciate that you care to learn more about my background!  I also look forward to learning the same about you.

I come from a sleepy community in New Jersey, dreadful accent included.  I’ve been interested in psychology and human development for most of my life, as well as art and creative expression.  I also have a strong fondness for the taboo, and greatly enjoy daring conversations about sexuality, pleasure, relationships, and erotic expression.  I take pleasure in being labelled a millennial and admire my generation’s work in redefining professionalism absent of meritocracy and conventional “shoulds.”

My educational and professional background is varied; I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2010.  I have an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University where I triple majored in Biological Sciences, Psychology, and English.  While studying, I’ve had the experience of conducting research which culminated in publishing a collaborative scholarly article on the effects of gender-mediated stress on alcohol consumption and addiction in mice.  It’s evident that I have a variety of passions and interests and took my time in determining how to fuse these into a cohesive career that worked for me, where I could help others while continuing to be curious and expand my own knowledge, as well.

After my time at Rutgers, I dipped my toes in a few fields that would make use of my biology degree concentration before settling on attending Lehigh University to ultimately earn a Master’s of Education degree in Counseling Psychology and Human Services.  This conventional counseling training has allowed me to deep dive into the science and practice of counseling and therapy.  I found meaning and pleasure in working collaboratively with others to develop a meaningful vision for the future and then walk toward it.  I enjoy hearing, affirming, supporting, and learning from a diverse body of individuals, which this opportunity afforded me.  To continue to walk this path while also noticing and feeding my interest in the erotic and taboo, I then enrolled at Widener University’s Human Sexuality graduate program, ultimately earning another Master’s degree.  Working in the field of human sexuality is my ultimate passion.  I take pride in bravely moving toward a subject that our society feels timid about, and emboldening others to join me on this journey.

As my career has progressed, my work in this field has evolved alongside me.  I’ve worked while nested into local large healthcare systems, I’ve worked in community-based care services, I’ve worked at private practices, and I’ve worked at my own private counseling practice. I’ve led individual sessions, worked with couples and families, led small groups, spearheaded community initiatives, spoken at local community events, and collaborated on national projects, with the intention of advancing wellness and sexuality acceptance. My intention in branching into coaching, advising, and contracting work is to continue to expand my scope outside of traditional mental health counseling to a wider audience passionate about seeking growth and development, sex-positivity, and wellness, whatever diverse form that may take.
